Our journey began with a dream and a determination to provide high-quality childcare that parents could trust. Owner Melanie Merten brings a unique blend of education and professional experience to The Learning Village. With a degree in education, she embarked on a career path that led her to unexpected places, including a decade-long tenure at an engineering firm. However, her true calling emerged when she became a parent herself.
Melanie explains, “In 2003, when my first child was born, I faced the challenge of finding suitable childcare while pursuing my career. Fortunately, my employer recognized the need for working parents and allowed me to bring my daughter to an in-house childcare facility. It was during this time that the seed of opening my own childcare center was planted. Collaborating with a dedicated caregiver looking after my daughter, we created a nurturing space where children could learn, play, and grow.”
